3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari

Pick up at Kigali airport or hotel in Kigali, after driving to Ruhengeri to visit Volcanoes National Park, Northwestern Rwanda. This is a spectacular park in Rwanda where over 30% of the world’s 1063 mountain gorillas live. Check in at the Rwanda gorilla safari lodge in Volcanoes National Park for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

With a hefty breakfast early, set off for briefing on gorilla trekking in Kinigi offices. Get at a briefing with everything you need for a day trek to see the mountain gorilla family including packed lunch, bottled water, waterproof hiking boots, long-sleeved shirts, cameras, etc. 

At 8:00 am after the gorilla families and park guides have been assigned to you, leave for the actual trek to see mountain gorillas. This is expected to take from 2-6 hours depending on how fast you can walk or the nature of the habitat. You begin walking back after one hour of face-to-face encounters, taking pictures, etc. In the evening, it is important that you also have insight into the Rwandese cultures, traditions and great dances, and music performances on a cultural visit at Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village.

A sumptuous breakfast early, after, leave Ruhengeri for Kigali 2-3 hours’ drive and embark on a 1-2 hours Kigali city tour. The city excursion includes visiting the Kigali genocide site, markets, etc. The departure will be at Kigali airport after the city tour and lunch.
