The 6 days Uganda safari offers exceptionally the best of Uganda tour, wildlife safari, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking experience. This Uganda short safari holiday covers the top tourist destinations in Western and Southwestern Uganda. Gorilla trekking is main highlight on your Uganda safari and this will be done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which sits on 331sq.kms of land area and protects 459 mountain gorillas, 220 butterfly species, 360 bird species etc.


Chimpanzee tracking on the 6 days Uganda safari will be best enjoyed in Kibale Forest National Park, which sits on 795sq.kms of land area in Western Uganda. This protects 13 species of primates including bush babies, baboons, colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, over 1500 chimpanzees. This package also covers Queen Elizabeth N/Park for you to have an exceptional guided game viewing experience, see the tree climbing lions, diversity birds, mammals to mention but a few.


Detailed itinerary 


Day 1: Kampala to Kibale N/Park, Kabarole district in the western safari circuit 


A hefty breakfast be offered to you at the booked hotel/lodge and once you are done, catch up with your Uganda safari guide. Leave Kampala or Entebbe early for Kibale Forest National Park which sits in Western Uganda, accessible via Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal city route for 5-6 hours’ drive. On arrival at Fort Portal, the driver guide will make a stopover to let you enjoy lunch and also get some refreshment. Proceed to Kibale with en-route mesmerizing view of crater lakes, tea plantations and get to your lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking & take a trip to Queen Elizabeth NP


Early in the morning, rise up for a tasty breakfast and after, briefing on Kibale chimpanzee trekking guidelines from 7:00am-8:00am. Briefing in Kibale for chimp tracking commences at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre where you will also clear with reception desk. 


Other than viewing chimpanzees, expect also to view L’Hoest monkeys, baboons, colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, birds etc. Walk back/pick up at the area the driver guide dropped you inside the forest and after lunch, vacate Kibale for 3 hours’ trip to Queen Elizabeth N/Park.

Day 3: Safari game drive Kasenyi and boat/launch tour Kazinga Channel


Rise up early enough, have breakfast and meet your guide prepared to go for 2-3 hours of guided game viewing via Kasenyi Plains. The Kasenyi track comes with lots of interesting animal sightings ranging from buffaloes, warthogs, lions, leopards, elephants, antelopes to countless birds. Later, drive back to the lodge you booked to be provided with lunch and also have a relaxed afternoon. 


A boat will be your next remarkable safari experience to be enjoyed starting at 2:00pm. On a boat cruise Kazinga channel, wildlife species to watch include hippos, crocodiles, water bucks, aquatic birds etch. Get back to the booked lodge to freshen up, dine and spend a night.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth N/Park-Bwindi N/Park in Southwestern Uganda


Transfer to Bwindi Forest after breakfast in your lodge in Queen Elizabeth NP, drive via Ishasha to gave a glance of the tree climbing lions plus plenty of other wildlife species. Also, don’t miss the mesmerizing landscape views and en-route lunch at Savanna Resort. Later, have refreshing dinner and overnight stay in the booked lodge.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest-Gorilla Tracking & Batwa tour


Breakfast early morning in your gorilla lodge in Bwindi Forest and after, briefing at the park offices. Trekking Bwindi gorillas is generally unpredictable and we advise you to come along with some packed lunch and mineral drinking water. Vacate Bwindi offices at 8:00am for actual gorilla trek with park guide and expect to take 3-6 hours less or more. 


You will have a complete 1 hour of watching mountain gorillas, observe their behaviors and take photos then walk back to refresh at the booked lodge. In the evening when you have relaxed enough, take a cultural walk to Batwa Pygmies community.

Day 6: From Bwindi Forest, take 8-10 hours’ drive back to Kampala/Entebbe


Hefty breakfast early enough and afterwards, you will leave Bwindi Forest for Kampala or Entebbe. For 8-10 hours’ drive, on your return journey to Kampala, areas to expect to make a stopover include Igongo cultural centre for lunch and Equator for photo shoot.
