Enjoy a 2-day Rwanda gorilla safari, a short gorilla trekking tour to see the massive mountain gorillas in their natural environment. You will have the best of Rwanda gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park, Ruhengeri region. This is one of the oldest parks in Africa, created in 1925 and it is found in Northwestern Rwanda. 


Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park is a lifetime opportunity to interact with one of the 12 habituated gorilla family groups in the park. The 2 days Rwanda gorilla safari allows you to spend 1 hour with a gorilla family with higher chances to encounter several other wildlife species.   • Day 1: Kigali city tour -Volcanoes National Park, drive time 2-3 hours

    Kigali is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and today, upon pick up, your driver guide will take you through this scenic city. For 1-2 hours of exploring the Kigali capital, expect to visit iconic attractions/sites in the city including the Kigali genocide. This gives a deep insight into what took place during the 1994 Rwanda genocide. In addition, you will visit local markets, and craft shops and then settle for lunch, after, drive to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri.

  • Day 2: Gorilla trekking Ruhengeri Volcanoes N/Park, & drive back to Kigali

    Gorilla trekking in Ruhengeri Volcanoes National Park Rwanda starts in the early morning after breakfast. Carry some packed lunch, bottled water and your gear for gorilla trekking, assemble at Kinigi for a briefing from the park official. At 8:00 am, you and the assigned park guide will start your trek through Volcanoes National Park bamboo forest for 2-6 hours. 


    As you search for mountain gorillas, you may come across a diversity of other species and once you have finally met your gorilla family, you have one hour to take pictures, learn about their behaviours, etc. After, walk back to the lodge to check out and with packed lunch, drive back to Kigali to be dropped at the lodge/hotel or airport for departure.
