The 2 days Nyiragongo safari offers you the best of Congo volcano hiking experience. This volcano hiking tour introduces you to Mount Nyiragongo (3470m), one of the most powerful volcanoes the world still has and this is set in the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Central Africa. Nyiragongo volcano has had numerous eruptions, with the recent one in 2021. Trekking to the summits of Mt. Nyiragongo is a great opportunity for you to witness how powerful this volcano is as you get to witness the fiery or smoky lava lake at night.

Day 1: Nyiragongo trek to the summit

Pick up by your knowledgeable driver guide from your hotel in Gisenyi Town, drive via Goma Town in the D.R.C to Virunga National Park for briefing on your Nyiragongo hiking adventure. By 10:30am, the guide will take you on actual Nyiragongo hike lasting for 5 hours to the summit in case you begin from Kibati area. Navigate via steep slopes and tall trees while enjoying the beautiful view of surrounding areas. Overnight stay at the Nyiragongo summit will be in the existing Nyiragongo Summit Shelters. 

Day 2: Descend back from the Nyiragongo summits & drive back to Kigali

A hefty breakfast early morning and after, meet your hiking safari guide ready to return to briefing point. Your driver guide then brings you back to Kigali Rwanda-take your flight back home.
